Shimano CS-HG800-11 – 11-Speed Cassette, 11-34T
The Shimano CS-HG800-11 is an 11-speed Hyperglide EV cassette offering a wide 11-34T gear range for road cycling, gravel riding and mixed-terrain adventures. Its 34-tooth largest sprocket provides easier gearing for steep climbs, making it a practical option for cyclists seeking a wider range from a compatible 11-speed drivetrain.
A standout feature of the CS-HG800-11 is its compatibility with different Shimano HG freehub configurations, including standard 8-, 9- and 10-speed HG freehub bodies and road 11-speed HG freehubs when the appropriate spacer is installed.

Wide-Range Gearing for Climbing
The CS-HG800-11 offers a broad selection of ratios that combine higher gears for fast riding with lower gears for challenging climbs.
Its eleven sprockets are arranged as follows:
11 – 13 – 15 – 17 – 19 – 21 – 23 – 25 – 27 – 30 – 34T
The 34-tooth largest sprocket offers an easier climbing gear than a comparable 11-28T, 11-30T or 11-32T cassette.
Versatile Freehub Compatibility
The CS-HG800-11 uses the Shimano HG spline M cassette mounting format.
It can be installed on:
-
Compatible HG spline M freehub bodies: Commonly found on Shimano HG 8-, 9- and 10-speed hubs and mountain bike 11-speed hubs. No additional 1.85 mm spacer is required.
-
Compatible HG spline L road 11-speed freehub bodies: Requires the supplied 1.85 mm spacer behind the cassette.
This compatibility can be particularly useful when adapting certain existing wheelsets to compatible 11-speed drivetrains.
The cassette is not compatible with Shimano Micro Spline freehub bodies.
Rear Derailleur Compatibility
The 34-tooth largest sprocket requires a rear derailleur rated for this cassette size.
For Shimano Ultegra R8000 systems, the RD-R8000-GS rear derailleur supports an 11-34T cassette. Always verify the complete drivetrain's capacity, chain length and manufacturer compatibility specifications before installation.
Installation and Maintenance
Install using suitable Shimano HG cassette tools and tighten the lockring to the recommended 30–50 N·m.
Use the correct 1.85 mm spacer configuration for the freehub body and inspect chain wear when replacing the cassette.
